things i'm sick of

1. fear
2. anxiety
3. being poor, and i say that with a full knowing that i am rich in so many ways, and even materially i am far wealthier than many in this country and others, but this is my list and my life and i am telling you that as compared to others in my various peer groups, i am POOR and i am SICK OF IT.
4. hating everybody
5. not knowing how to set up my CD collection
6. not having a CD player to set up on which said CDs would be played
7. being unmotivated in connection with physical exercise

i am cultivating the following new habits

1. using teabag more than once
2. going "for a walk"
3. appreciating nature for itself, its intrinsic beauty or whatever, having that experience and savoring it
4. kindness in my responses to others, situations, my own private thoughts
5. focusing on what's good in others
6. making difficult phone calls sooner rather than later

Sunday

this week

1. go to tiffany already. it's been like over two months.
2. call stearns & foerster to complain about sagging dent in uber-expensive mattress but do not presume that they are out to screw even thought their warranty is inherently screwful.
3. buy box of clever and/or supremely elegant "thank you" cards.
4. place telephone call to reverend joan block to arrange supervisory meal.
5. read torah portion.
6. eat lots of green vegetables.
7. buy dr. h moisturizer at either whole foods or westerley
8. go to bed early.
9. go to fairway and buy salmon. a bunch of it.
10. call the lady whose car got towed.

what i really want to eat tonight but won't because we are making a BIG SALAD

1. steak from al di la
2. french fries accompanying said steak from al di la
3. steak burrito from la tacqueria
4. chips that accompany said steak burrito from la tacqueria

commentary:

i will admit i feel conflicted. i do want a big salad, but i really want a big steak. i could eat both. do you understand? i have the urge to fill my entire mouth with food, as much as i can humanly fit in there, just because it feels good. it's a bad habit, but i have that urge.

a post mistakenly made to the "coffee" blog related to this site from 12.1.04:
